EILEEN WHITEHEAD ROBINSON
ABOUT ME!
Author. Editor. Publisher.
I’ve spent nearly 30 years in children’s publishing, and I’m still head-over-heels in love with making books for kids.
I’ve worked as an editor at Scholastic and Harcourt, helped launch Reycraft Books (Benchmark), and founded my own independent publishing house, Move Books—created to inspire reluctant middle-grade readers, especially boys, to fall in love with reading. In 2022, that mission found a new home when Charlesbridge Publishing acquired Move Books as a new imprint (now Charlesbridge Moves), where I continued on for a few years as Editorial Director.
Along the way, I’ve taught with Boyd’s Mills (formerly Highlights) and mentored young writers and future editors and publishers, particularly in underserved communities. And I’ll keep doing that because it’s necessary and it fills me up.
After decades of cheering on other people’s stories, I’m finally telling my own—and I’m so glad you’re here for the beginning.
